| Launched as Taxi Fleet Plus in 1998, the company offered insurance cover for taxi fleets through a network of independent insurance brokers. Over the years the company has expanded its product range to provide insurance cover for a wide variety of hire vehicles including single taxis, executive cars, funeral cars and minibuses. In 2006, the organisation changed its brand name (with assistance from DEIN) to TFP Schemes to reflect the developing product range of the company.
The last two years since the re-branding has seen the company grow substantially resulting in the following:
-
An increase in employees from 26 to 39
-
Increasing the product lines from 5 to 8 distributing these through its market leading online client management and quotation system – TFP SOLO
-
Increasing annual turnover by 40%
-
Being recognised as the 10th largest insurance wholesaler in the UK
-
Being awarded the prestigious title of “UK Wholesaler of the Year 2008” at the Insurance Age – Broker of the Year Awards.
The Insurance Age award was won as a result of “a proven track record of success in terms of innovative and profitable expansion in existing and new markets made possible by the organisations commitment to customer service and the introduction of innovative technological systems.”
Commenting on the award TFP Schemes Partner, Damian Walsh said “The last 12 months has seen our business grow strongly despite tough trading conditions. This really has been a result of our focus on providing our broker customers with a fast, reliable service using a combination of online technology and the support of experienced knowledgeable staff. The recognition we have received by winning this industry leading award really does crown a very successful year”.
TFP Schemes are continuing to progress further their expansion plans for the next 12 months, including the launch of new products not just in the hire vehicle market but also in other sectors, including truck and van and a Special Type Motor Policy to cover agricultural vehicles, mechanical plant, cranes and snow ploughs.
