Q Underwriting Services Ltd (‘Q Underwriting’) has announced the appointment of Paul Gerada as Managing Director of TFP Schemes in Cardiff, with Damian Walsh retiring from the business at the end of 2019.
Paul’s career spans over 15 years in senior positions within financial services including Operations Director and MD of Personal Lines and Health Care at Bluefin. He joined PIB Group three years ago, originally to consult and carry out due diligence on mergers and acquisitions.
In his most recent role as Group Head of Operations, he has been responsible for overseeing all Group Change and Project Governance, including this past year delivering the significant project to rollout Acturis to the MGA and Schemes & Affinities divisions of PIB.
Paul has been announced as the Managing Director of TFP Schemes. The £30m GWP niche underwriting business is based in Cardiff with over 40 employees, where he will focus on developing the business in its next phase of growth as part of Q Underwriting.
TFP Schemes was established in 1998 to take advantage of a gap in the niche motor market as a specialist wholesale underwriting facility for public and private hire fleet risks. The business now writes 15 specialist motor products including hire and reward (single vehicle and fleet), truck fleet and motor trade.
Stuart Webb, Managing Director of Q Underwriting, said: “We’re very excited to welcome Paul to TFP Schemes. Having worked closely with him over the past year on the Acturis project and I’m confident that with Paul’s strong leadership skills, TFP Schemes will be in good hands. We thank Damian for his vision and dedication to the business and wish him all the best for the future.”
Paul Gerada comments: “I’ve enjoyed being heavily involved in supporting Q Underwriting with recent projects, while also getting to fully understand the proposition and the role that TFP Schemes plays within that. I’ve spent a lot of time in TFP over the past few months and want to thank everyone for their support during the ongoing transition. We’re all very excited for 2020.”
Paul Gerada will join the Q Underwriting Leadership team, and report into Stuart Webb.
